Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship: TechUp Bootcamp Series Launch a Resounding Success!

On Saturday, December 7th, Dr. Aleta Grimes Mitchell, Director of the Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship, launched the inaugural session of the TechUp Bootcamp series. This transformative initiative, hosted in partnership with TechSTL and funded by the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Capital Readiness Program, focuses on equipping entrepreneurs with cutting-edge tools to thrive in the digital age.

With over 50 local business owners and entrepreneurs in attendance, the kickoff session, AI for Small Business, was an overwhelming success. Expert trainers Emily Hemingway (Executive Director, TechSTL), Erik Lutenegger (Tenacity), Nick Niehaus (Business Video School), and Porscha Anderson (PLA Enterprises, Inc.) delivered impactful sessions on using AI for market research, creating AI-powered buyer personas, and leveraging lead magnets to drive business growth.

Thanks to the support of our ULSTL Head Start Program, participants enjoyed complimentary childcare during the event. We extend our gratitude to our valued supporters—NIKE, US Bank, Walmart, and Commerce Bank—for helping make this event possible.

The TechUp Bootcamp series will continue on Saturday, January 11th, with a focus on Building Your 2025 Business Strategy. Register now for this free session, which includes lunch: Eventbrite Registration.
